Communities as a building block of a successful data strategy

The large international corporations Bosch and MAHLE are increasingly discovering communities as an important component of a successful data strategy. The development and implementation of a holistic data strategy is a particular challenge, especially with international teams. This challenge is due, on the one hand, to the international nature of the organization and, on the other, to the enormous range of products and markets. The involvement of different stakeholders in the form of communities to overcome the challenges presents itself.

Target Audience: Data Managers and everyone interested in Data Communities
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of Data Strategy and Data Culture
Level: Basic

Extended Abstract:
This raises a wide range of questions at both the technical and organisational level. From the perspective of the Bosch and MAHLE groups, this presentation deals with the question of how communities can be formed and used to realise the goals of a data strategy in a meaningful way. At the same time, the communities must be established sustainably within the groups. This raises the question of how the communities relate to the corporate structure and its data governance development. From an organisational perspective, the question of how the community can be broken down into subgroups and how these groups can be led to work together efficiently is discussed.
