GAIA-X - Eine vernetzte Dateninfrastruktur als Wiege eines vitalen, europäischen Ökosystems

Das „Projekt GAIA-X“ wird in den Veröffentlichungen des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung als Wiege eines offenen digitalen Ökosystems gesehen, in dem Daten sicher und vertrauensvoll verfügbar gemacht, zusammengeführt und geteilt werden können. Ziel ist es, gemeinsam mit weiteren europäischen Ländern für Europa, seine Staaten, seine Unternehmen und seine Bürgerinnen und Bürger die nächste Generation einer vernetzten Dateninfrastruktur zu schaffen, die den höchsten Ansprüchen an digitale Souveränität genügt und Innovationen fördert. Der Vortrag bezieht sich auf das (politische) Zielbild, den Prozess der Entstehung, auf die Beteiligten sowie die europäische Integration, um eine öffentliche Diskussion zu begleiten und Interessierte in das Thema einzuführen.

Sebastian Olbrich is a graduated economist from the University of Mannheim. He wrote his master thesis in collaboration with McKinsey & Company which won an award for technological innovation sponsored by Fraunhofer Institute. He holds a doctoral degree from the School of Business Administration and Economics, department of Management Information Systems, Philipp’s University at Marburg; which was written in collaboration with SAP and the state of Hessen. He has extensive working experience as managing consultant, interim manager and data scientist. He worked most of his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) / Strategy& (Booz) in the fields of Corporate Performance Management (CPM), Business Intelligence (BI) and IT Strategy / CIO Advisory Services.
Currently he is employed as Senior Director with Capgemini Invent in the practice of Insights Driven Enterprise (IDE). He leads Insights-Driven Business Innovation (IDBI) a group of 35+ Data Scientists and Business Analysts in DACH region.
Dr. Olbrich (co-)authored more than 50 academic articles. He received his tenure (PD) from the University Duisburg-Essen where he is still involved in several research projects concerning Business Technology & Innovation (BTI) and lecturing in the Master program for Analytics as well as supervising PhD theses. He is a highly demanded speaker at conferences and lecturer for executive education – mainly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and the monetization of data assets. He served as professor for Information Systems and Digital Business at European Business School (EBS) in Östrich-Winkel. His overall research agenda focuses on data-driven innovation, information management and analytical business models.
