Building a Business-Driven Analytics Roadmap

Uhrzeit: 14:45 - 18:15
Vortrag: Di 7.3
Sprecher:

You need an Analytics Roadmap and you need to learn how to build a comprehensive plan quickly.  Business users don't want to discuss architecture and they aren't interested in the technology details.  They want a plan, they want examples, and they want business details.
This session will review the phases of building a Business/Analytics Roadmap. We'll discuss the different audiences, the approach of scoping and identifying needs, and provide a framework for capturing and managing these details.

Target Audience: BI/DW Project Managers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, User Requirements staff, Data Warehouse developers, and BI/Analytics Stakeholders
Prerequisites: Awareness and/or working knowledge of a BI/DW environment
Level: Advanced

Extended Abstract
We're buried in data and everyone is discussing the power of analytics, a single version of the truth, and self-service.  Unfortunately, your current approach is to react to the latest challenge, problem, or surprise. You need a plan - and you need to learn how to build a comprehensive plan quickly.
Business users don't want to discuss architecture and they aren't interested in the technology nuts and bolts.  They want to know how business intelligence and analytics are going to help them do their job.  They want a plan, they want business examples, and they want details. They want to see a portfolio of business capabilities and they want to see a roadmap.
In this session, Evan Levy will review the phases of developing an Business/Analytics roadmap and the tactical activities of planning, scoping, and organizing your Analytics and Data initiative. We'll discuss the different audiences, the approach of scoping and identifying needs, and even provide a framework (the Business/Analytics Portfolio) for capturing and managing these details.
